"I'd love to take a year off and travel the world under the radar. I would love to do it really low-key. I wouldn’t need to stay in fancy hotels or anything; I just want to explore - but I don't know how to do it."
-Zac Efron on coming out, err wanting to travel

"Put this in the magazine: There's nothing more to be said about music. I'm the fucking end-all, be-all of music. I know what I'm doing. I did 808s in three weeks. I got it. It's on cruise control. . . . Man, we talked about music for God knows how long! Now let's talk about how my fucking sweater didn't come back right from Korea. That's what's interesting me."

With most teen oriented programming being geared towards girls, this is the rare foray into the wildness that is the male psyche. No wonder it was cancelled after a single season...
It's full of hilarious cuts and talking heads as well as some moments that will make even the most die-hard high school haters a little nostalgic.
First it's their purity rings. Now, apparently they have secret nicknames for each other.
Kevin is "K2," Joe is "Danger" and Nick is "Mr. President."
Can they get anymore more fucking annoying?
First the chastity thing, then pretending like they have artistic integrity when they don't even write their own music. Then Nick biffs the lyrics to a Stevie Wonder song while performing with him at the Grammys.
Worst rockstars EVER.
It makes me sick that I even posted about them.

Take away the WB melodrama and cliche and the pilot (the story) is perfect.
A unique take on storytelling and a devastatingly powerful meditation on family, friends and how the way we grow up, who we meet and the choices we make, has everything to do with who we become.
Criminally underwatched and prematurely cancelled. Find it on DVD if you can.

It's not even Judd Apatow's best, but it's still pretty damn good.
A loveletter to college - the friendships, the heartache, the laughter, the memories, and most of all, the people you share it with.
Hilarious, touching, and prematurely cancelled, we can only wonder how much better it could have been.
"Dude, you're hotter than most chicks!"

People ask the question... what's a RocknRolla? And I tell 'em - it's not about drums, drugs, and hospital drips, oh no. There's more there than that, my friend. We all like a bit of the good life - some the money, some the drugs, other the sex game, the glamour, or the fame. But a RocknRolla, oh, he's different. Why? Because a real RocknRolla wants the fucking lot.
"Both Rowling and Meyer, they’re speaking directly to young people. The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good."
- Stephen King tells USA Today
I could not agree more!!
In related news, JK rowling was award the French Legion of Honor this week.

It's poignancy sneaks up on you. Not only a show about love and youth, but also a story of loss and regret and isolation.
The pacing of the characters in the first season is near perfect, even saving a reveal from the pilot until the second to last episode of the season. It flawlessly showcases the remarkable dynamic one is able to create through shared experience - something that can be done in television in a way that it never can in film.
